Web stats are simply a way to track who is visitng your site, and how they are finding it. Any web designer or internet marketer will tell you that keeping track of and analyzing your web stats is one of the best ways to adjust your site to make it better. For example, by analyzing your stats, you may find that a buried page is doing really well in the rankings, and receiving a lot of hits. You may want to tweak your site map or navigation on your website so that particular page is really easy to find. A few of the best (and free!) programs are google analytics, stat counter, and aw stats, and webalizer.
