My family and I just got back from vacation, and one of my tasks prior to us leaving was to make sure we were charged up and ready to go with all our electronic devices. I started spreading this stuff out on the counter, and started laughing. I don’t remember taking all this equipment on holidays when I was a kid, but now these are items that we have a hard time leaving behind. Here is an itemized list of what we ended up taking. 

• My Laptop - We packed light and left my wife’s laptop at home
• PDA/ Cell Phone - equipped with power adapters and car chargers
• 2 other cell phones “just in case”
• IPOD Nano with all our latest tunes ready for the road. I also put 2 GB of Podcasts on my PDA just in case I got sick of music
• IPOD charger and other cables
• FM transmitter for putting the tunes through the vehicle radio
• 2 Way radios and chargers so we could keep in contact while we were at the beach house
• Digital Camcorder with chargers and plenty of mini dv tapes
• Portable DVD player so the kids are entertained on the road (with cables, chargers and adapters)
• Nikon D50 DSLR camera with charger and case
